Proper pedestrian crossing with lights is the only solution as that will allow safe crossing and stop traffic speeding without a care about people waiting patiently to cross, it also keeps traffic moving. Zebra type crossing is no good on ... [more]

This filter onto the Esplanade needs to be marked into two lanes, for right and left turners - it's wide enough. Currently, right turners trying to cross the traffic often block both lanes, causing traffc tailbacks and needlessly delaying l ... [more]

Make Duisburg one way to then also make the seafront one way, that way you could actually have more parking on Duisburg if you want by being perpendicular, and you could introduce/improve wide formalised cycle lanes that are safer between t ... [more]

The filter from St. Helen's Parade onto the Esplanade is wide enough for two lanes, one for left turns and one for right turns. These need to be marked. At present drivers often drive to the extreme left of the space when waiting to turn ri ... [more]

Remove northbound traffic access which would allow repositioning of pedestrian crossing further away from the corner of an already narrow path where it restricts tasing [passing?] of pedestrians and cyclists.

Hayling Avenue needs to be one way for cars (possibly in conjunction with Tangier Road). It'd be a good road to cycle along if not for all the confusion

Short stretch of public road from Rodney Rd roundabout to mini roundabout to private Union Rd and Partnership Park should be 20mph

Needs a pedestrian crossing as it can be very dangerous crossing the road

Vehicles parked on north kerb of island block view of traffic filtering onto Old Manor Way. Double yellow lines needed on whole or part of the kerb near the junction.

Slow the traffic from Spar shop to ferry, it’s very dangerous here.

Need to REMOVE the recently installed cycle traffic lights. Since these have been installed traffic flow in ALL directions has been reduced dramatically and congestion is ridiculous. In addition the 'intelligent' traffic light system isn't! ... [more]

Cars coming into car park

The trees and bushes overhang here and after high winds there is often debris.

Improve traffic lights to be pedestrian friendly. Signal is too short and many are crossing illegaly.

Consider making Arundel street a 'school street'

This, along with Peronne Rd is a rat run in rush hours which combined with the roadside parking makes it dangerous for vulnerable road users. It is also a good cycle route linking Limberline Rd, Northern Parade, Highbury, Tipner Coast Path ... [more]

With the seafront closed, the volume of traffic here makes crossing the road on foot or by bike a dangerous nightmare. At the very least it needs a light-controlled crossing outside Dolphin Court, or better still a zebra crossing and a spee ... [more]

One way traffic only in certain sections or Albert Road needed with pavements widened and limited car use

Pavements now totally blocked by illegally parked cars/vans

Narrow, busy road. Make one-way, east to west up to Festing Road

Open road to relieve dangerous congestion in Eastern Parade

Noisy cars, hooting frustrated drivers, speeding at night. Speed bumps would help

Could do with no waiting over all lanes end of Bonchurch & Edgeware Roads as very difficult to turn north onto Milton Road at peak times, & of course there is very little courtesy from other drivers.

Speeding

Speeding

One way street needed. There are often stand offs between cars as they meet head on. Often the drivers are very aggressive and I've witnessed verbal abuse and threatening behaviour. Parked cars are often damaged. It can be very intimidating ... [more]

Cars do not slow down and often don't stop at the zebra crossing.

Reduce speed limit here please, so tricky to cross!

Drivers use Mayles Road as a rat run to the eastern road leading to the M27 motorway....after the first speed bump is passed, drivers accelerate and speed in excess of 40mph down Mayles Road, sounds like we are living on the hard shoulder o ... [more]

Portsmouth should be a 20 mile zone with wider paths and cycle ways and one way traffic. Tree islands in roads

These residential roads should be one way for motor vehicles allowing two way for cyclists. The roads are too narrow for cars to pass and often too long to see if the road is clear or not when you turn in.

It's a blind spot for bikes and cars. Have to edge out into the main road to pull out. Traffic is busy and too fast. Cars park both sides of Brompton Road and on yellow lines so you can't see. It's also a bus route.

It is hard to cross between Festing Road and Canoe Lake, particularly with young children. Cars travel fast and the island feels too small for a buggy and a child on a bike. A zebra crossing along this stretch would really help. This is a b ... [more]

Coming off the safe seafront cycle path bikes are forced to cross at this busy corner to continue in the road. Its dangerous, especially coming from the seafront which is perfect for families cycling

Add planter to stop this street being used as a rat run

More traffic calming needed near the two schools, cars round this corner very fast, with poor visibility

Close off the seafront here to all cars - just leave a few disabled parking spaces by the bus stop area in front of Clarence Pier

Create a safe route through central southsea, connecting various schools and the train station, & widen pavement by schools. Make Fawcett Road 1 way and install a protected cycleway, with Francis Ave 1 way in the other direction.

Modal filter to stop traffic cut through between Devonshire Ave And Goldsmith Ave to avoid Milton market & light junction

Make Pembroke Road 1-way West to East from High St to Chatham Drive to stop rat running avoidance of King's Terrace/ Landport Terrace in rush hour. Will make it much safer for kids arriving at St Judes Primary School.

Modal filter no through traffic point. remove parking from street.

Modal filter - no through traffic point. Remove parking on Osbourne road but keep access to Ashby Place car park on reasonable short term charges but high fee for over two hours.

Make Serpentine Road one Way

Add Modal Filter to restrict traffic movement through the narrower western end of Marmion Rd (which direction do Palmerston road delivers into richmond place come from?)

Make this section of Richmond Road one way southbound only.

Kirstall road to be one way exit only. Re-align kerbs to improve pedestrian comfort crossing the road. vehicle access form Eastern Villas road

What purpose does this road serve? Close it and extend D-Day Memorial Gardens west.

The angle of this junction is dangerous as it can be taken at speed. this area should be re-designed for a tighter turn and force vehicles to slow down.

Close Sandringham Road junction. Too close to Arundel street lights junction and is already a dead end. Access as necessary via Penhale and Sandringham Lane

Chapel Street Filling station in and out and Washington Road means four vehicle movements in space of 100 yards. Chapel street could easily be closed and footway improvements made as with Buckland Street

Traffic filter to stop vehicles cutting through to avoid Kingston Road

Make Flint Street exit only. use Gold street to access inwards.

Make existing closure of traffic to guildhall walk permanent. Traffic access to guildhall still available via exchange road / large show vehicles as necessary at walking speed

Make Gloucester Terrace one-way only. Allows width of both junctions to be narrowed to one vehicle to aid pedestrian crossing.

Restrict Hewitt Road to entry only to stop rat running route across to Oriel road.

Filter required to stop north south vehicle cut through

Point closure / cycle filter to restrict north south traffic

Point closure / traffic filter for motor vehicles travelling between Guildhall walk and Alec Rose Lane - can use winston churchill ave and Isambard brunel road instead.

Need to reduce / filter rat running traffic avoiding havant road / A27 access.

Point closure / filter to reduce through traffic levels

Stop right turns into Euston Road as they have to cross two lanes of traffic. Use Moorings Way / Warren Ave or Milton Rd / Edgware Rd

Stop right-turning traffic out of Euston Road as it has to cross two lanes of traffic. They can use Warren Ave / Moorings Way instead via light controlled junction

Francis Ave 2 exits to Goldsmith Ave only one needed

Traffic Filter to stop rat running east to west to avoid elm grove lights

Make junction exit only for mower vehicles by two ways for cycles - parked cars main road too narrow further north.

Should be one way northbound so no traffic exits here. Exit via Grove road north lights or st andrews road.

Need to stop southbound traffic turning right into other of these junctions - line of sight is poor and traffic moves too fast on Victoria Rd north.

Traffic filter to stop rat running from Elm grove

Close this end of Orchard Road to through traffic and enable a quieter route for walking and cycling than Goldsmith Ave - allow more space for pedestrians in the area too especially for school runs times. Also close access to new cycle cros ... [more]

Traffic Filtering required allow Orchard road to be alternative cycle route to Goldsmith Ave

Restrict parking on northern side of Goldsmith Avenue to off peak hours only (7am to 7pm) to free up traffic flow along the road.

Make Priory crescent one way northbound for motor vehicles. Extra space could be used for echelon parking and thus remove parking from Goldsmith Avenue north side.

Make Milton Road end of Priory crescent exit only to create space for wider footways and reduce traffic movements in a congested area.

Should be entry only minimum although better still fully closed with access via roundabout & southern end of Victoria Ave

Should be restricted to exit only at minimum. One may road might provide space for extra (echelon) parking to mitigate loss of spaces along the seafront.

Filtering required to stop through traffic avoiding Stubbington Avenue to access London Road

Filtering required to stop through traffic avoiding Stubbington Avenue to access London Road

Too much traffic being fed into the cross roads here - especially at school time. needs a restriction of some description no entry into Francis Ave or 'school street' in St ronan's road to reduce likelihood of an accident.

Festing grove can be a traffic cut through as it replicates Eastern Parade and Highland road. Filter prior to kimberley road would stop this.

Festing grove can be a traffic cut through as it replicates Eastern Parade and Highland road. Filter prior to kimberley road would stop this.

This section of Albert road should be one way from main road to Vic Rd South but only true left at exit. Parking often restricts it to one lane anyway, and it is often used a cut through for vehicle wanting to access Albert road.

Entry only to Victoria Grove from Vic Road South as sidelines are very poor exiting and also difficult to turn right due to traffic lights.

Albert Grove is used as a cut through for vehicles to avoid Vic Rd Sth / Albert Road junction that is often congested. Particuarly noticeable in evenings by cabs from the rank outside the Kings Theatre. Traffic filter in northern section ... [more]

The proposal to close this section of road to private cars is absurd. It is an A road and is the major access to the south western corner of the city

The footways have been taken over by illegally parked cars.
