[Image taken 7.2.23] Duncombe Square, Burton Stone Lane, York. [NOTE: Location approximate.] These are to be built to passivhaus standard (passipedia.org/basics/what_is_a_passive_house). But where's the buzz? Where's the explanation? Where's the rationale of how this will benefit the residents and the locality/planet? There are these tiny panels on the gate: #188029. But they use the old reference: ‘Duncombe Barracks’ not the new branding ‘Duncombe Square’. It's been winter since these were put up, the lighting is lacking here, they are tiny, they don't invite you to go and see what they say. And when you do they seem to be claims about the construction company rather than the construction methods and benefits. And look at the mud. I had to clean my cycle and my panniers with soapy water last week after cycling along here after rain. At present there are no benefits to local people. I'd like positive imagery about the city - it's within earshot of the Minster bells - and reassurance there will be benefits (presumably from the type of construction) for those who live near this development. Context and links: #190856.
